Position Summary

The Data/Reporting Specialist assists the Advancement Systems Manager in maintaining data integrity for a large alumni/donor database, supporting fundraising and alumni engagement efforts. Key duties include providing accurate data and reports, designing user-specific reports, training staff on the Raiser's Edge system, offering technical support, creating documentation, and managing various reports such as month-end, year-end, and quarterly updates. The role involves data entry, processing deposits, overseeing student workers, and supporting system functions like the NXT portal. The specialist also develops queries and reports, improves documentation, and ensures data accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Develop reports, queries 10%
  • Month-End Reporting 7%
  • Fupload to Banner 5%
  • Create documentation 3%
  • VSE Yearly Report 5%
  • US New Yearly Report 5%
  • NCOA Quarterly Updates 5%
  • Deceased Finder 5%
  • Deposit Processing 3%
  • Year-end accrual reporting 5%
  • Direct mail data request 15%
  • Assist with in NXT Portal 7%
  • Oversee 1-2 student workers 10%
  • Provide backup support for Advancement Systems Manager 5%
  • Training new & existing staff to ensure correct procedures are followed 5%
  • Provide technical support to University Advancement staff, addressing system-related inquiries and issues 5%

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education – A college degree or four to eight years of work experience in a related field.
  • Employment – Four to eight years of work experience in a related field. (Equivalent combination of education and employment).

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficient in Raiser's Edge/NXT Database or other development database experience (3-5 Years of experience).
  • Experience with data processing in a non-profit/high education setting.
  • Experience maintaining CRM data, creating reports, and analyzing data. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook required Data Entry
  • Polite customer service skills
  • Good Communication (oral/written), and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a diverse setting (including University community/donors)
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to dynamically adjust the data output to meet customer requirements.

Physical Requirements

Job may require lifting light weight objects (1 to 10 pounds) with no repetitive bending or stooping. Occasionally lift average weight objects (1 to 10 pounds). 

Work Environment

Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.  

Salary/Pay Information

Commensurate with experience  

Anticipated Schedule

Mon to Fri, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
