The Enrollment Marketing Specialist role plays a key part in optimizing communication workflows and executing targeted digital communications channels that support the enrollment strategy at the College of Saint Benedict & Saint John’s University. This role not only enhances recruitment communications and strengthens brand alignment across all prospect touchpoints, but also contributes to the creation of innovative messaging strategies and campaign ideas.

The posted wage represents CSB and SJU's good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills, and may fall outside of the range indicated.
Communication Channel Execution (50%)
Create, plan, and execute the recruitment strategy via multiple communications channels including email, web, texting, and social media in support of new student enrollment goals.
Collaborate with recruitment and marketing team members to ensure messaging aligns with brand standards and strategic objectives.
Monitor campaign performance and provide optimization recommendations through data-driven insights, while proactively generating strategic ideas and improvement opportunities informed by industry trends and best practices.
Communication Workflow Optimization (20%)
Audit and refine communication workflows to ensure clarity, consistency, and efficiency across recruitment channels.
Implement best practices for email segmentation, personalization, and automation.
Brand Alignment & Touchpoint Consistency (10%)
Ensure all recruitment communications reflect the organization’s brand voice, tone, and visual identity.
Partner with creative and content teams to develop assets that reinforce brand consistency across email and other digital channels (e.g. photo/video assets).
Conduct regular audits of recruitment touchpoints to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement.
Data & Insights (10%)
Define success metrics and report on performance across campaigns.
Use data to inform decision-making, demonstrate impact, and continuously improve engagement efforts.
Share results and impact stories with internal and external audiences.
Planning & Workflow Oversight (5%)
Maintain a comprehensive campaign calendar to coordinate efforts across teams and ensure strategic alignment with enrollment cycles, advancement campaigns, and institutional events.
Additional Duties (5%)
Contribute to the overall success of the marketing department by supporting special projects and evolving needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Two or more years of proven experience in email marketing, preferably within higher ed enrollment, preferably on an internal Marketing team within an academic or large organizational setting of a 5,000+ audience base.
Organized and detail-oriented, with an ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong written communication skills sufficient to write, prepare and edit materials such as articles, memos, reports, presentations, etc., using correct spelling, punctuation, grammar and sentence construction.
Customer services skills sufficient to actively listen to and understand customer needs and provide accurate information and appropriate alternatives in a timely, thorough, courteous, respectful and professional manner in person, over the phone and in writing.
Proficiency in developing creative work as needed – email campaigns, web, social, etc. in coordination with creative designers, writers, photographers, and web developers.
Ability to work with minimal supervision and under multiple deadlines. A wide degree of creativity and self-motivation is expected.
A willingness to improve skills and knowledge, including attending training seminars and self-study.
Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet operational needs, including evenings and weekends.
Physical requirements:
This role primarily involves extensive use of a computer and other office equipment in an office setting, with the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
Travel requirements:
Regular travel between CSB and SJU is required.
