Under the supervision of the Controller, the Campus Mail Manager oversees daily operations of the College of Saint Benedict’s Mail Services, Copy Center, and Information Desk. This position manages service delivery, supervises and trains student employees, and ensures compliance with postal regulations and campus policies. The Manager provides exceptional customer service to students, employees, visitors, and members of the monastic community while maintaining efficient, accurate, and cost-effective operations across all areas.

The posted wage represents CSB and SJU's good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills, and may fall outside of the range indicated.

 

Responsibilities

Mail Services Operations (60%)

  • Oversee all incoming and outgoing U.S., campus, and intercampus mail, as well as package deliveries from multiple carriers.

  • Supervise, train, and schedule student employees to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely mail and package processing.

  • Maintain current knowledge of United States Postal Service (USPS) regulations and ensure compliance with postal standards.

  • Manage the Mail Services budget, billing, supply inventories, and mailroom equipment; maintain the Mail Services web page.

Information Desk Operations (25%)

  • Supervise, train, and oversee student employees responsible for daily Information Desk operations.

  • Provide courteous and accurate assistance to students, employees, visitors, and members of the monastic community.

  • Maintain current information resources and communication materials.

  • Coordinate with campus departments and work in collaborate with the CSB Dean of Students to ensure consistent and effective service delivery.

Copy Center Operations (15%)

  • Supervise and train student employees and oversee daily Copy Center operations.

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, faculty, members of the monastic community, and community guests regarding print projects.

  • Manage the Copy Center budget, billing, and equipment maintenance.

  • Maintain supply inventories and update the Copy Center web page.

 

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:                   

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Experience supervising, training, or scheduling employees.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with diverse campus and community groups.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software systems.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodations.

  • Ability to lift items up to 40 pounds.

  • Ability to tolerate temperature fluctuations.

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, bending, balancing, and handling materials for extended periods.
