• Regis University, a Jesuit Catholic Hispanic Serving Institution in Denver, Colorado, invites applications for the position of Vice President for Mission Integration. A key member of the President's Senior Leadership Team, this role provides strategic and pastoral leadership to ensure that the mission, vision, and values of Regis are embedded across all aspects of university life. Regis is comprised of three academic colleges providing both professional and liberal arts studies, online and on-campus, and serving a diverse range of student populations.

 

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for Mission Integration will guide efforts to deepen the university's Jesuit Catholic identity, foster interfaith dialogue and inclusive spiritual engagement, and enrich the lived expression of the University's mission, vision, and values as a Jesuit Catholic educational institution.

 

This is a pivotal time in the life of Regis University. As it continues to navigate a changing higher education landscape, the University is reaffirming its roots in the Jesuit Catholic tradition while expanding its commitment to inclusive excellence, faith formation, and transformative education. The Vice President for Mission Integration will play a critical leadership role in shaping this future—cultivating belonging, deepening understanding of the mission, and serving as leader and caretaker of the Ignatian tradition and Jesuit charism for the entire Regis community.

 

Key Leadership Responsibilities of the Mission Officer:

 

o Responsible for shaping the vision and the strategic direction of the Division of Mission Integration and ensuring alignment with institutional goals and priorities, in support of the University Strategic Plan, the most recent Mission Priority Examen, and the Universal Apostolic Preferences of the Society of Jesus.

 

o With the Director of University Ministry, ensures effective pastoral care, sacramental ministry, and spiritual support across the university community.

 

o With the Vice Provost and the Community for Belonging, creates strategies to build and sustain a culture of belonging, where individuals of all identities and faith backgrounds feel respected, valued, and supported.

 

o Fosters interfaith dialogue and inclusive spiritual programming that welcomes all beliefs while remaining rooted in Catholic tradition and values.

 

o Works closely with senior leaders and divisions across the University to embed mission across operations and serves as a key resource for questions of Catholic theology, Catholic social teaching, and the Jesuit way of proceeding.

 

o Facilitates mission integration and reflection processes to ensure alignment between institutional strategy and Jesuit values.

 

o Serves as a mission coach and mentor, helping university leaders and departments discern how best to animate the mission in daily practice.

 

o Serves as a thought partner and scholarly coach for faculty by fostering academic engagement with the Catholic intellectual tradition and Ignatian pedagogy. Supports faculty in exploring how their disciplines intersect with mission, justice, and spiritual inquiry and offers a mission-based guidance that enhances curriculum development, co-curricular collaboration, and reflective teaching practices. Identifies strategies to support mission formation programming, experiences and development for faculty, staff, students, and Trustees.

 

o Assists the President as a visible advocate within the Denver community, including engagement with local parishes, religious leaders, and the Archdiocese of Denver, reinforcing the University's role as a faith-based civic partner.

 

o Serves as a key intellectual and strategic partner in developing collaborative initiatives with Jesuit organizations at the regional, provincial, national and international levels. Assists the President as University liaison to local schools, partnering with internal stakeholders, the Jesuit community, and the Province to support the recruitment and retention of Jesuit faculty and staff in mission-critical roles across the University.

 

o Responsible for budget stewardship, staff supervision and development, operational excellence, and oversight for the division.

 

Professional Qualifications and Personal Qualities

 

Regis University seeks a strategic leader and mission-driven leader who is deeply grounded in Ignatian spirituality and who embodies the values of cura personalis (care for the whole person), magis (the more), and communal discernment.This individual will actively advance the Catholic intellectual tradition, the Jesuit mission, and Ignatian pedagogy across all facets of university life, while also demonstrating strong administrative acumen in managing staff, budgets, and departmental resources effectively.

 

The ideal candidate will bring a compassionate and visual pastoral presence, serving as an approachable, empathetic, and attentive resource to students, faculty, and staff.Strong candidates will model servant leadership through humility, active listening, and a genuine commitment to the spiritual and personal well-being of the entire campus community.

 

The Vice President must also have the following skills, qualifications, and attributes:

 

o At minimum, a Master's level of theological or ministerial training; preferably a Ph.D., or equivalent in a relevant field.

 

o Must possess in-depth knowledge of the Catholic intellectual tradition and Jesuit education, as well as deep familiarity with, and personal experience of, Ignatian spirituality.

 

o Exceptional and inspirational communication skills, with the ability to articulate confidently and consistently the Jesuit Catholic mission and inspire others to understand, express, and live the mission across diverse campus contexts.Demonstrates the ability and courage to address issues that challenge the mission and core values of the University.

 

o Knowledgeable on current trends in the Catholic Church and social justice issues.

 

o Proven administrative leadership, including experience managing budgets, supervising professional staff, and overseeing departmental operations to ensure mission-aligned and efficient outcomes.

 

o Ability to work effectively with other senior administrators to foster and sustain a sense of community, shared purpose, and collaboration among the University's diverse faculty, staff, and students.

 

o Demonstrated experience serving as a strong advocate and ambassador for the University's Jesuit Catholic mission within the local community, the Archdiocese, and broader church and civic networks, fostering partnerships that advance shared values and institutional goals.

 

o Proven experience in strategic planning, program implementation, and assessment.

 

o Demonstrated understanding of academic affairs, including experience in faculty development, teaching excellence, or oversight of academic programs in alignment with mission and institutional goals.
