Position Summary

The part-time Evening Services Coordinator oversees the circulation area of the McNichols Campus Library on weekday evenings (Monday-Thursday) and weekends (currently, Sundays), alongside a team of student workers.  This position is not a 12-month position – it is a fall and winter semesters-only position (generally, late August through late April). 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the work of the library’s student workers who are scheduled on weekday evenings and weekends.  Oversee circulation services.  Troubleshoot basic computer and printer issues.  Work on circulation-related projects.  
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the library, as necessary.  Ensure quality service, safety, and security of the library facility during weekday evenings and weekends, coordinating with Public Safety as needed.  
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  

Minimum Qualifications

Education - A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or 18 months to four years of work experience in a related field.
Employment - Six months to two years (Equivalent combination of education and employment).

 

Preferred Qualifications  

Evening and weekend hours required –  must be dependable.

   

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

Customer service skills, ability to work independently. Library experience and supervisory experience preferred. 

   

Physical Requirements  

Job requires repetitively lifting light weight objects where frequent bending or stooping alternates with lighter activities.

   

Work Environment  

Regular exposure to favorable conditions, such as those found in a normal office.

   

Salary/Pay Information  

Commensurate with experience

   

Anticipated Schedule

 Hours will intensify just before and during exams. Schedule may change on a semester-to-semester basis.

 

Additional Information

The person in this role will work late August to late April/early May, in accordance with the University’s fall and winter semesters.
