Temporary Opportunities- SJU Culinary Services

The Department of Culinary Services at Saint John's University (SJU) invites applications for multiple part-time, temporary positions within our dining and catering services. Flexible and varied hours are offered with each position.

Food Production:

Assist in preparation and production of all menu items for day-to-day operations

• Provide quality foods to service areas and catering events
• Practice sanitation and safety procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Food Service Associate:

• Assist and serve guests in our residential dining facility.  
• Assist with preparing and serving at catering functions 
• Other duties as assigned

Sanitation Associate - Dish:

• Work as a team member in the dish room to provide clean and sanitary dishes
• Perform custodial duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and other projects as assigned by supervisors.
• Other duties as assigned

Food Production:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in customer service, preferably in food service.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety guidelines.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Availability to work rotating shifts - including regular evening and weekend assignments.

Food Service Associate:

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Previous experience in customer service, preferably in food service.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety guidelines.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Availability to work rotating shifts, including regular evening and weekend assignments.

Sanitation Associate - Dish:

• Must be at least 16 years old. 
• On-the-job training is provided.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to maintain cleanliness and follow food safety guidelines.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Availability to work rotating shifts, including regular evening and weekend assignments.
