The Center for Global Education at the College of Saint Benedict invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), benefit eligible position of Manager of Global Programs.

The Manager of Global Programs oversees a portfolio of semester and short-term education abroad programs at the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John’s University (SJU). This position maintains policies and procedures to promote the success, health, and safety of participants on education abroad programs. The Manager of Global Programs is responsible for developing collaborative relationships with international and campus partners in support of CSB and SJU global engagement efforts.

The posted wage represents CSB and SJU's good faith estimate of likely compensation at the time of posting. Actual pay will be dependent upon several factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills, and may fall outside of the range indicated.

 

Responsibilities

 

Program Management (80%) 

    • Advise students on education abroad programs and guide students to integrate their global experience with their academic, professional, and personal development. 
    • Manage a portfolio of semester and short-term education abroad programs, including: 
      • Academic, housing, and health/safety standards 
      • Contract negotiation and partner agreements 
      • Budget management 
      • Visa procurement 
      • Program evaluation and assessment 
      • Student program application process 
      • CSB and SJU Faculty Director and student communication 
    • Create and facilitate student programming and support related to education abroad programs, including: 
      • Develop and implement marketing plans and conduct outreach efforts, including print and online materials and campus events 
      • Coordinate pre-departure advising and orientation, including large group and individual advising sessions 
      • Coordinate re-entry programming for directors and students on education abroad programs 
    • Manage and coordinate program evaluations and assessments.

Collaborative Partnership Building (10%)

    • Develop and maintain relationships with international program partners, including conducting international site visits. 
    • Support CSB and SJU faculty directors through the cycle of education abroad programs including orientation, program abroad, and re-entry.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and to stay current with trends in the global education field.  
    • Represent CSB and SJU in external international education conferences, associations, and organizations 

Health & Safety Compliance (10%)

    • Maintain policies and procedures to promote the success, health, and safety of program participants. 
    • Partner with the Director to respond to issues and problems as they arise during education abroad programs.

Qualifications

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:                        

    • Bachelor’s degree 
    • Professional experience in an international programs office or working abroad.
    • Strong understanding of international education best practices and trends, particularly in higher education settings.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and manage complex logistics with strong organizational skills.
    • Proven ability to collaborate and coordinate work within a team environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience managing budgets preferred.
    • Familiarity with study abroad application management systems and related administrative processes preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Requires working at a computer for extended periods, including typing, reading from a screen, and using various software programs essential for the role.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Occasional travel between the campuses of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University.
    • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally for up to a total of two weeks each year.
