This position, reporting directly to the VP of Institutional Enrollment, is expected to develop, recommend, and implement a robust strategy to enhance student retention and success. Chairing of the Retention and Student Success Task Force, the Director will creatively assess and modify processes in tutoring, transfer, advising, and pathway development to student success and serve as a member of the Leadership Team for Institutional Enrollment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develops programs and services to foster success of "Early Alert", first generation, and other students with barriers to educational success.
  2. Supervises the Retention Specialist.
  3. Develops programs and services that counsel "At-Risk" students to ensure they understand the academic policies associated with poor academic performance.
  4. Uses multiple channels of communication to connect with "Early Alert" and "At-Risk" students, including students on improvement plans for academic probation or suspension.
  5. Collaborates with faculty to design programs and services to meet the needs of students.
  6. Collaborates with campus partners, such as the Office for Disability and Accessibility Services to assure that the college programs, services, and activities are accessible to students with disabilities.
  7. Assists in the successful planning and administration of new student orientation programs, to include advising for first time students and other services needed.
  8. Develops marketing strategies for department services, activities, projects, programs and events, including flyers, brochures, and other publications, social media, and internet marketing.
