Rivier University invites applications for the position of Director of Graduate Counseling Programs, which includes a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and an M.Ed. in School Counseling. This is a twelve-month, full-time administrative position with an annual teaching load of twelve credits. The Director will report to the Dean of Counseling and Psychology.
The Division of Counseling and Psychology encompasses three degree levels including an undergraduate B.A. in psychology, graduate counseling programs, and a Psy.D. in Counseling and School Psychology, recently accredited by APA. Supporting the University’s overall commitment to behavioral health, the division will occupy fully renovated suite of offices, meeting rooms, conference facilities and collaboration spaces in the summer of 2025.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Director of Graduate Counseling Programs will oversee all aspects of the master’s programs including but not limited to adjunct faculty hiring, course scheduling; admissions, advising, and maintaining academic standards. The position includes teaching twelve credit hours per year of graduate coursework and advisement of students completing doctoral scholarly projects.

The successful candidate must have an earned doctorate from an APA-accredited program in Counseling, School or Clinical Psychology or closely related field. The successful candidate will have a clearly expressed desire to contribute to the development of the programs and the model of training practitioner-scholars.
