Carroll College, located in Helena, Montana, seeks a Vice President for Institutional Advancement (VPIA) to lead the college philanthropic team and a capital campaign. Carroll College is a Catholic, diocesan, liberal arts college that provides a learning and living environment where faith, reason, and free inquiry aid the search for truth in order to cultivate enlightenment, a professional calling, spiritual inquiry, and a commitment to the common good.

Reporting to the President of Carroll College, the VPIA plays a leading role in the planning and successful execution of capital campaigns in addition to providing and implementing a strategic plan that increases major gifts and overall philanthropic giving to the College. The VPIA leads the Office of Institutional Advancement (OIA) team in the areas of prospect research, stewardship, database management, office manager and an administrative assistant. The VPIA advises and supports the College President and members of the Board of Trustees in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major gifts. The VPIA builds effective relationships with a diverse group of internal and external constituents and builds relationships working as a thought partner with the President, and in partnership with the College’s leadership team.

A bachelor’s degree in business management or related field is required, and a master’s degree is preferred. A minimum of eight (8) years of fundraising experience in higher education or a similar environment, with experience in a fundraising leadership position preferred. Demonstrated ability to supervise and lead a team. Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as effective interpersonal skills to develop collaborative working relationships. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and establish goals. In depth experience with major gifts management, alumni engagement and donor relations, fundraising, database services, communications, and marketing in higher education is preferred. A track record of active participation and leadership in a successful capital campaign is preferred. Annual salary range is $135,000 - $188,000.
